Computer Society Club In Woodlands Community Club

INTRODUCTION

We are constantly surrounded by computers and other advanced technologies. Schools are now including Information Technology (IT) to facilitate students’ learning. There has been in increase in IT usage particularly in New Media by various government organisations to reach to youths. The creation of social networking sites such as Facebook and applications such as Skype has help to make the world well-connected and smaller. These show the importance and need for one to have some basic IT skill and also for one to keep up with the advancement of technology around them.

PURPOSE

The IT club will conduct workshops for residents to gain some basic IT skills and also for residents to explore different areas of IT. For residents who are equipped with basic IT skills, we will give them an in-depth look of how IT works. It will also create a platform for IT enthusiasts to share their knowledge.

MISSION

To provide a platform for residents in Woodlands area to gain basic IT skills and improve on their IT skills.

VISION

Residents to have basic IT skills and knowledge.

PLANS FOR 2010

The IT club will meet up once every month to be updated with upcoming activities within the club. Also during the meet up, discussion on current trends or new technologies will take place.

There are averagely 3-4 IT shows a year. A month prior to IT Shows, members can meet up to discuss about what to expect at the IT shows.

Also within the year, we are aiming to conduct 3 – 4 workshops for the public. Such as:
